Job for a Cowboy have announced a November 11 release date for their new album, Sun Eater.
"Sun Eater", the fourth offering from Job for a Cowboy, is an aural achievement that is poised to stand as the band's definitive statement. Along with producer Jason Suecof, vocalist Jonny Davy, guitarists Al Glassman and Tony Sannicandro, bassist Nick Schendzielos, and session drummer Danny Walker have crafted a cerebral and accomplished piece of technical death metal.
The new song is way different from anything the band has done so far. I hesitate to even call it death metal — it’s really more of a melodoom song, just a couple of steps removed from Swallow the Sun and Daylight Dies.
It also sounds as though the band is moving even further in the direction of prog than they did on 2012′s stupendous Demonocracy. Tony Sannicandro shreds so fast he liquifies the guitar neck! Nick Schendzielos’ bass is so slinky it can walk down stairs, and you can actually hear in the mix! That very special (and characteristically kick-ass) drum performance from Danny Walker (Intronaut, Uphill Battle)! This band has a come a long way from the days of that creepy ginger with the shit in his ears.

Nice to have a little difference for a change
Let’s see how this will turn out. Demonocracy was a big step forward for this band, at least in my opinion.
“Sun Of Nihility” isn’t that bad, but not that amazing either, but artwork is excellent again.
They continue to grow leaps and bounds with each album, transformations like this very rarely take place. There is a true maturity to be appreciated here.
You can find the first track, Eating The Visions Of God, on youtube now too. Too few points or I’d have added it to the page. Wicked excited for this, band continues to get better and better.
Awesome album as usual!
