Electronica is to encompass the last few decades of electronic music with the participation of outstanding artists of all generations with whom Jarre feels especially connected with. The album features 16 different collaborators. It is Jarre's first album in eight years, and features collaborations with prominent electronic musicians from the past five decades, from Jarre's early contemporaries in Air and Tangerine Dream to new EDM stars Armin van Buuren and Gesafflestein. Other acts on the album include Moby, Erasure's Vince Clarke, filmmaker John Carpenter and classical pianist Lang Lang.
