Ahead of the release of their debut album ‘ The view from here is beautiful but the air is so thin’ on the 30th of September, Burials, are giving fans the opportunity to hear the album in its entirety.
The record encompasses years in the lives of it's contributors and serves as a collage of their approaches to writing and recording music over that time.
Though not a concept album in terms of a present narrative, thematically the songs deal with human experience in one form or another, from confusion and self doubt, through anger and disgust pricked with moments of contemplative hopefulness.
Musically the album is taut and refined without being mechanical, a more organic sounding presentation that aims to complement the organic themes of the album, tight enough to showcase the finer points of the musicianship and yet unrefined enough to let the songs breathe.
As a whole this album is presented “as is” - no gimmicks, no tricks, just an honest representation of a work conceived by five people and realised, often painstakingly, over the last few years.
