In 1996, Cradle of Filth released its much-loved record Dusk.. And Her Embrace, but did you know that what you're hearing isn't actually the original version of that record? The record was originally recorded in 1995 and was called The Original Sin, but lawsuits and a band split caused the record to never be released in its original format… until now.
Recorded at Birmingham’s Zella Studios in the Spring of 1995, this second full-length introduce Gothic elements to Cradle’s raw black metal sound, focusing on decadent vampyric romanticism, death and loss, and forbidden love. However soon after recording the band split, half of the band forming The Blood Divine, and the remaining members made the collective decision at the time to not release a record that was not representative of the new line-up. Dani Filth said:
“This is where the quintessential Cradle Of filth album ‘Dusk And Her Embrace’ came from… Remastered for 2016 by Scott Atkins from the original DAT tapes with re-imagined art work by Drake this album remains raw and rawkus, untamed, proper underground British black metal… hopefully at it’s best, never to be repeated… enjoy!”
Hail!
