Sapphire Slows has a mini-album called Time coming out on patten's Kaleidoscope label in late September.
Tokyo-based producer Kinuko Hiramatsu put Time together between 2014 and 2016, a period when she had otherwise stepped away from releasing new music. She continues exploring her abstract, pop-inflected electronics on the mini-album's seven tracks, which includes fresh versions of "Confession" and "Piece Of You" (songs heard on a limited-edition seven-inch for Big Love Records last fall). We're told to expect "a monument to the pleasures and pains of change, growth and development" that features a more upfront vocal approach.
Time will be Hiramatsu's second Sapphire Slows release of 2017, after an EP, The Role Of Purity, came out through Nous back in March. She's also released on 100% Silk and Not Not Fun, the latter being home to her 2013 debut album Allegoria.
