NAs a child, did you have a treehouse? If so, lucky! I had trees and I had a house, but the two never became one. The question at hand, though: did New York rapper Le1f ever have a treehouse? My guess would be, no, as New York does not seem like a particularly treehouse-heavy city, but I can’t say for sure. Maybe Le1f spent his childhood years in a beautiful treehouse. Maybe he’s never been in a treehouse. Maybe he’s purging his childhood disappointment through his upcoming mixtape Tree House, coming out September 10.
The mixtape, Le1f’s third since last year, has a first single in the form of “Damn Son,” named after the exclamation one makes upon seeing a particularly great treehouse. Listen to that track below, via Le1f’s SoundCloud. After the tape’s release, Le1f will head out on a tour of America’s best treehouses. He will also spend some of that time playing shows. Some shows may, in fact, be in treehouses.
