After Scars and Stories, there were rumours The Fray had promised a fourth album by the end of 2013. On New Years Day 2013, The Fray announced officially over Twitter that a fourth album was in the works. In October 2012, in an interview with Rolling Stone, Isaac Slade said that The Fray would be starting work on album number 4 in the new year, with the target release date of Christmas 2013. If this were to happen, the space between Scars and Stories and the fourth album would be only 22 months - the shortest space of time in between Fray albums.
On June 4th, 2013, The Fray announced on Facebook and Twitter that they had begun recording their fourth album
