Self-titled album from St. Vincent has been announced.
Follow up to Strange Mercy (2011) and forth album from Annie Clark.
The self-titled album was produced by John Congleton and features Dap-Kings drummer. "I knew the groove needed to be paramount," Annie Clark said in a press release. "I wanted to make a party record you could play at a funeral." The First single off this self titled album is called 'Birth In Reverse'.
Update: A new track has been added, Digital Witness, embedded below from Youtube. Spin has the new single described as "this one takes a spastic, bent-plastic groove, and then leaves room for Clark to mean-Prince-mug her elliptical observations"
The first two lines from the first single is brilliance alone: “Oh, what an ordinary day. Take out the garbage, masturbate.” The song structure seems a bit simple on the surface (and it is), but the lead guitar melody is funky and chaotic; in a really good St. Vincent way.
Seriously, can’t wait!
Not only is it her worst single but it’s the worst song she’s ever released.
St. Vincent’s sound is always changing. While each album has similar elements from the work it follows, there’s a constant evolution in her work. I can’t wait for her new album.
He’s just giving his opinion.
Yeah, I really should have just left it at “I’m looking forward to this album.” I deeply apologize for wasting everyone’s time in having to read those first two sentences. So stupid and petty of me. I hope you can all forgive me.
Jesus you’re uptight.
Not you Greg, justian.
First you reply to my comment stating how it’s the worst song she’s ever released, and now you make a comment of “duh, she’s evolving”?
To me, at least, ‘evolving’ usually means the advance to something more complex and favored. Some music devolve to rediscover their roots.
We only have one single to go by and we don’t know what the rest of the album will sound like.
Stop trying to be an all mighty St. Vincent fan.
Cute? Why thank you. Finally a glimpse of ‘some’ positivity.
Highly looking forward to the album! (And still yet to hear the mentioned second single).
justian: My god, you are an unpleasant human being…
Moving past the above shit:
Here’s a link to listen to a new song from the album, ‘Prince Johnny’.

This song leaking may be a sign that this is going to drop soon.
Actually I don’t think it’s leaked, someone’s telling me it’s on Spotify. Oh well. Great track nevertheless.
It’s on Spotify in the UK.
Thanks Rory!
To clarify, this is in reference to the single “Prince Johnny”, not the entire album itself. The comments have been all messed up.
Yay! Ignoring the shit up there and listening 2 new st. Vincent is my fave thing! (: (: (: prince Johnny, everyone? (:
It’s on itunes. Good track.
Both Broken Bells and Beck have leaked within the last week but I’m so damn greedy and really need this to leak soon as well.
Stop being so negative, everyone. I personally am not happy with Justian either, but I choose not to judge him. He may be a nice person if u tried to get to know him (let’s just get along).
ugh.
“ugh” being in relation to…?
Most anticipated album after Owen Pallett and behind Liars
Take it easy @benexclaimed, While @jesture is provocative, no need for troll comments.
Who are the people who feel the need to decrease the hype in these things?
I need this album…like yesterday.
If there’s no stream on Monday or Tuesday I WILL lose my mind.
People have received their copies with the mp3 downloads. And yes, they can download them now.
This will leak soon.
I’m not able to report leaks but IT LEAKED. Do some digging on Tumblr, you’ll find it.
DO NOT download this from 4chan, the links are unsafe.

Really enjoyed it through the first listen. I can only imagine it gets better with each listen. Feeling 8/10 after one listen but I think it’ll grow to 8.5/10.
