    • Whooops.

I like Swans because it’s different, chaotic, and mixes post punk and noise rock seamlessly. It’s massive in scope and execution.. The Antlers is smooth and mellow, but yet very descriptive and atmospheric. Woods is just a fun record with some of the catchiest hooks in their career. Cloud Nothings is blistering punk that’s fun and has the best song of the year. Ought is post punky goodness. Lantlos blends shoegaze and metal perfectly. Posse is a Sonic Youth infused mid-tempo delight. Aerofall is just a solid shoegaze album from Russia. Real Estate is great driving indie rock music. Perfect Pussy is abrasive lo fie punk, but yet hooky as hell.

      • To Be Kind is awesome, but I think it is being slightly overrated, I liked The Seer more because I felt like it had more material and it didn’t seem as repetitive. The Antlers: not really my thing. I agree with the new Woods’ and think it’s being underrated. I liked Ought but not as much as Parquet Courts-Sunbathing Animal and Protomartyr-Under Color of Official Right. I highly recommend the latter: darkly addictive garagesque post punk with good songwriting. I’ve heard some good things about that Posse album, I’ll give it a listen.

        • I agree on Woods being underrated. I’ve listened to Parquet Courts and felt it was better than their last album, but not strong enough to contend with some of the bigger stuff – however, Instant Disassembly is excellent. I caught Protomartyr opening for Cloud Nothings back in April. Not great live, but the new album is solid.
