It’s that time of year again. And just like last year, I think we should compose a list of nominations together. The rules are simple: Add three nominations in the comment section below. If an album is getting two or more mentions, it will likely end up on the final list where we all vote on the definitive top list.
Last year there were an amazing 700 submissions, with 70 of the titles ending up in the top list. And as RTJ pointed out to me earlier this week, Kendrick Lamar almost killed the suspense and won by a landslide last year. But this year it might be a bit different as there’s a lot of major artists who put out stellar albums, as well as some minor, indie artists killing it with their debuts.
To get inspired, why not read our 2015 list or view the video for the Top 10 albums in 2014. Or why not check out the more obscure list of the most mediocre albums of 2013. We even got a list for 2012’s best albums. We’re getting old!
– Mojib
I’m adding The Avalanches – Wildflower.
Hands down my album of the year.
And yes, I’m aware that there are a few weeks left. But I don’t think The Weeknd or Childish Gambino will convince me otherwise.
Would Carly Rae Jepsen’s Emotion B-sides count? Cause that is it for me, hands down.
