The Future of Has it Leaked
Update: If you like Has it Leaked, consider supporting it here.
Update 2: Me and label executive Louise discuss Has it Leaked and DMCA takedowns.
Tomorrow I will be recording an audio message for you all, with the use of our podcast. If you have any questions before we record, please let me know and I’ll address them. This post will also be updated.
This week has been a mess where The IFPI has put a claim on just about everything related to the site, shutting it down every social platform we got. They’ve done this before, and lost every time. But it’s a hassle and I’m going to make parts of the site private, but with every existing member invited.
Just a heads up! Stay tuned.
Damn son, this website is great. I just love to use it for upcoming releases more than anything. Stay wavy baby
It’s sad, but I’m start to thinking and the best we can do to avoid shit like that, is make all site private.
I don’t know how, no thoughts, but maybe invites to access, and add new users, etc.,.
There’s no need to make the site private nothing on here is illegal there aren’t even any links to other websites. Making it private would take away a major draw of the website of being a public place to find out about leaks.
Major labels do not care if we link to files or not, they report us anyway.
Why not switch to a DMCA ignored host? If you are not doing anything illegal in the first place there should not be an issue.
Can you not somehow kick Recording Industry’s A$$ somehow ?
Well that sucks!
Seemed pretty odd to me how I wasn’t getting your tweets on new music, now that explains it all. I’ll be checking that podcast tomorrow, keep it up HSL team.
This makes sense, good idea or your part. Thanks for such a great sight. I look forward for many more years of finding music here.
1) What is their claim against the site (as you don’t provide any links to the music itself?)
2) Is it necessary to rename the site and remove references to the word Leak everywhere? I use the site to track what’s coming & when as well as to see videos/cover art/tracklists/general info as they all become available…
From what I understand, they submit a report with their automated system and don’t bother to check if there’s illegal content. Of course that leaves Mojib to counter every single claim (all of which he obviously has won).
Was there even talk of renaming the site in the first place? If there was, I guess I missed out lol.
