Fully recharged and inspired by his eye-opening first trip to Mecca, the 2011 uprisings in the Middle East, and the world wide Occupy movements, Brother Ali is prepared to unveil his fourth full-length offering Mourning in America and Dreaming in Color. Created during a self-imposed two-month exile in Seattle and helmed by platinum-selling producer Jake One (50 Cent, T.I., Wiz Khalifa), the album presents a scathing yet honest critique of America and its many flaws while simultaneously presenting a hopeful outlook of its possibilities. Preceded by the release of free music downloads with accompanying music videos such as “Shine On," "Writer’s Block,” and “Not A Day Goes By," Mourning in America and Dreaming in Color is the pièce de résistance.
this is hip hop music in it’s purest form, and sad to see you’ve labeled it “alternative”
But you not too pissed to see if it leaked or not. Stop it God
I’ve heard the album and I’m not impressed. All the intensity, passion and verbal acrobatics Ali used to be known for is gone. What is left is a rather average MC who seems to have stretched his vocabulary in a mere 5 albums. I certainly hope his live show still has that passion because with these incredibly average tracks he better show up with some passion live otherwise fans will stop caring.
Its leaked on Atrilli …Check it out guys and grab a copy for yourself..
This does seem like fairly common (generic) sounding hip-hop music I’ve heard many times before. Kind of old school? Interesting words. I like it. That’s what I like about my joining this site, it has opened me up to other genres I wouldn’t otherwise even consider, whereby I made a decision to try and open my mind a little and listen to different things at least one time, and a little bit at a time, in order to broaden my horizons (beyond Metal).
