The band began work on their fourth studio album, tentatively titled "Battle Born", in May 2011 at their Las Vegas studio. In a Q Magazine interview taken in June, Flowers stated that album would have "great stories told through real rock music", potential songs include a seven-minute epic titled "The Slot Tech", "Runaways" and "The Rising Tide." The band began recording the album in Nashville, Tennessee in October, with Brendan O'Brien. Both Vannucci and Flowers have stated that the album will feature a heavier use of guitars than their previous album Day & Age. Bassist Mark Stoermer has stated that the band is hoping for a Summer 2012 release. In an interview with Zane Lowe on BBC Radio 1, Flowers also confirmed that they had been recording with Steve Lilywhite and also mentioned a song titled "Battle Born" which he described as the "pillar of the album".

pirate bay has the delux edition…best quality out there…
Bruce Springsteen for the poor. Avoid this. This band used to be good…
Oh my god I am SO disappointed! I need to listen to it a few times more but still…it sounds so uninspired! Big let down. They were nicely evolving with each album, trying something different every time but here it sounds more like Brandon Flowers’ solo effort. It wasn’t worth waiting 4 years for it…
The opener, Flesh and Bone, almost made me blow a load the first time I heard it. On first listen, the rest of the album was kinda meh, with the exception of a few tracks (Runaways, which I’d listened to about a thousand times before, A Matter of Time, Miss Atomic Bomb, The Rising Tide, and From Here On Out).
But as I was driving home late last night from my girlfriend’s college, I had about two hours to really jam and absorb it. Driving fast, windows down, 1am, I feel like it really ~clicked.
I’m not disappointed with this record at all. Definitely worth the wait to me. I’d recommend spinning it a few times LOUD if you’re not sure The Killers still got it. ;)
Good kitsch music. Its lame and “too mainstream.. commercia blah blah” for my liking.. but there has always been something that has intrigued me in regard to their music, something that was lost on day and age but happened again with this one. I like it.
