DESTROID-the new mega collaboration led by Canadian bass master Excision featuring fellow Canadian bass artist Downlink and drummer KJ Sawka from platinum-selling electronic rock band Pendulum-have announced the release of their debut full-length album. Due out May 7 on their own independent imprint Destroid Music, DESTROID-THE INVASION features 10 original tracks from the group that is set to revolutionize bass and electronic music worldwide.
On DESTROID-THE INVASION, DESTROID come guns fully blazing with an all-star cast of electronic producers and collaborators, including the globally acclaimed Bassnectar, U.K.-based electro/bass artist Far Too Loud, U.S. bass artist Space Laces, Japanese "bass Godzilla" and Rottun Recordings artist Ajapai and dubstep vocalist Messinian. From beginning to end, DESTROID-THE INVASION is filled with stomping beats, spine-tingling bass and gut-wrenching drops that bang louder than anything around today. DESTROID-THE INVASION packs the dirtiest of the dirty and the heaviest of the heavy in bass music.
DESTROID-THE INVASION goes full force with the throbbing, whomping bass of the Space Laces- and Excision-produced "Bounce" and "Funk Hole," which immediately destroy eardrums. Excision teams with Bassnectar on the hip-hop-tinged "Put It Down" which showcases the production prowess from both bass heavyweights. "Put It Down," a collaboration made in bass heaven, is sure to please dubstep fans globally as the track quickly accelerates and takes listeners on a ballistic journey from the get-go.
In support of DESTROID-THE INVASION, DESTROID have confirmed a select run of headlining and music festival performances as a full live band including their debut live show May 31 at The Warfield in San Francisco and appearances at the Moonrise Festival June 8 in Baltimore, the Orion Music + More Festival June 9 in Detroit and a featured performance at this year's Camp Bisco. DESTROID bring forth the next stage of the dubstep movement as a full-on live dubstep band executed in a way bass music has never seen. The live setup will feature Excision and Downlink performing with two custom MIDI guitars and KJ Sawka banging away on a fully custom digital drum kit. With Excision always being known to present an intense and elaborate live show, rumors are circling of what exactly this extreme stage show will contain after years in the making. DESTROID is set to launch minds into the stratosphere through the power of live bass music, delivering electronic devastation and cerebral elevation.
"I've spent over three years getting this new DESTROID project ready and I really believe that the way we are putting it together sets down a new path for electronic music performance," says DESTROID founder Excision.
On the day DESTROID-THE INVASION is released, Excision will participate in a live "Ask Me Anything" (AMA) session on Reddit at 5 p.m. PST May 7, where fans are encouraged to ask him anything related to Destroid, Excision and his recently wrapped "Execution Tour" featuring the groundbreaking live production stage "The Executioner."
