On January 1 2023, Skrillex uploaded a cryptic video titled QFF/DGTC 23, effectively announcing two albums to be released in 2023, "Quest for Fire" and "Don't Get Too Close". The same week, he released the long awaited "Rumble", a collaboration with Fred again.., Flowdan and Elley Duhé, which kickstarted a weekly release of singles including "Leave Me Like This" and "Xena" from Quest for Fire, as well as "Way Back" and "Real Spring" from Don't Get Too Close. In February, Skrillex uploaded a QFF focused set on his YouTube channel, announcing the release date of his long anticipated second album.
