Lupe Fiasco announced that the music he was working on for Food & Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album Pt. II has been "put in the safe", and has decided to head in a new direction with a new album title.

"A lot of the music we did for it, we're just kind of putting in the safe. We're starting with a new album that's called Tetsuo & Youth. It's a different angle and twist," he said.

Lupe Fiasco was interacting with his fans quite a bit on Twitter, asking them who they'd like to see on the album and answering fans' questions about the forthcoming Tetsuo & Youth project.

Lupe said he only has a week left before he has turn the project over, but it's possible he can make one more fan-voted feature happen. It appears the fans were asking mainly for Nas, Kendrick Lamar and Chance The Rapper-- who would you pick for Lupe to collab with?

In addition to hypothetical collaborations for the LP, Lupe revealed some of the features he's already got in the stash and some he's still lining up. He revealed that SZA is a feature he's working on getting, and when asked about a Future feature, Lupe responded "fingers crossed." In an interview last week, he also confirmed with features with Rick Ross, Big K.R.I.T. and Trae Tha Truth, Ab-Soul and Chris Brown.

Finally, the rapper said he's got to cut down the album tracklist to 12 tracks, he's currently at 25.

Let’s just hope that Lupe will go back to F&L rapping. Lasers wasn’t that bad but F&L was legendary

People and fans of Lupe are always saying he should go back to F&L rapping, but that will never happen. Lupe Fiasco has matured since making Food and Liquor, and as you mature, your music matures as well

I disagree..What part of Lupe Wasn’t not mature on the F&L days? He had songs that had a really deep message like:
      The Instrumental
      The Cool
      He Say She Say
      American Terrorist
      Hurt Me Soul
      Kick, Push (II)

He was mature, but you can’t tell me he reached his full level if maturity at such an early age. Obviously as he grows older, just like a normal person, his views and feelings towards things are going to change. For example, how often do you here him talking about skating now? You can’t stop lyrical progression, and you can’t reverse it either.

I actually liked Lasers A LOT. songs like Letting Go and Beautiful Lasers just make you think, “how did Lupe come up with stuff like this?” Lasers really is amazing.. but I think Lupe is best to go back to the place where he first came from, That meaning The Cool and F&L.The first song I listened to by Lupe and made me fall in love with him was “The Instrumental” If Lupe really wants to take a new route I wouldn’t mind seeing where he goes. But I doubt that in the end nothing will ever reach F&L and The Cool for me

Why is Lupe collabing with such shitty people? Chris Brown? Rick Ross? Dude… you’re so much better than that.

This album was incredible in my eyes! The cool, Lasers and F&L are going to be his own worst enemies with this album, the nostalgia of those albums almost makes them seem better and you end up wanting his new album to be the same thing! But if you just sit and listen to this entire album as its own individual ‘body of work’ ;) its really is a great album!
