Bad News Boys (fka King Khan & BBQ Show) We Are The Champion

Following a four-year-hiatus, King Khan & BBQ Show returned a few months back with a new name and a brand new single. The triumphant garage rock jam “We Are The Champion” turned out to be our first taste of Bad News Boys’ upcoming fourth LP. Now, they’ve announced additional details: Bad News Boys will hit stores this February through In The Red Records. It’s the pair’s first full-length since 2009’s Invisible Girl.

Today’s announcement also comes with a second album track, “Alone Again”. Here, the Boys really amp up the doo-wop influence, layering slightly haggard harmonies over the one-two punch of spaghetti Western guitars and the steady thud of drums. They may be known for their endlessly kinetic energy, but the vocal interplay throughout really plays up the heart of these Montreal rock ‘n’ roll fiends.
