Pye Corner Audio will release the final two volumes of his Black Mill Tapes series on Type Records at the end of the month.
It'll be another connection with Type for the UK experimental producer: the label consolidated his full-lengths Black Mill Tapes Volume 1 and Volume 2—which were initially put out on cassette through his own label, Pye Corner Audio Transcription Services—on vinyl back in 2012. As the name implies, Black Mill Tapes Volumes 3 & 4 will pair the third entry in the series, which was first self-released in 2012, with the as-yet unheard fourth volume. Together they "mark a transitional period" for PCA, according to a press sheet, which also points out "a notable shift into beat-laced darkness." The 24 tracks will be made available on 2xLP vinyl, before all four volumes are collected on a triple-CD pack to be issued at some point in February.
