Abd Al Malik is a French rapper, spoken word artist, writer and movie director of Congolese origin. Former member of the french rap New African Poets (N.A.P.). He started his solo career in 2004, with the release of his self-produced Le face à face des cœurs, with limited chart success. But with his follow up Gibraltar, in 2006, Abd Al Malik meet success in France. He then released the album Dante in 2008, and followed Chateau Rouge in 2011, produced by Chilly Gonzales. Abd Al Malik music is is a smart mix between rap, hip-hop, spoken words and electronic music. His texts are always of high quality, with many references and tributes to artists that influenced him as Jacques Brel, Claude Nougaro or Juliette Greco. His new album Scarifications will be release on November 6th 2015, and is produced by Laurent Garnier.
