“E·MO·TION” is the upcoming and highly-anticipated third studio album by Canadian singer-songwriter and popstar Carly Rae Jepsen.
It’s scheduled to be released on 24 June 2015 (at least in Japan) and it serves as the follow-up of her acclaimed major debut and second overall studio album ‘Kiss‘, released in September 14, 2012 via Interscope Records.
During and interview with Idolator in 2013, Jepsen shared that the upcoming record incorporates pop and folk, and channels Robyn, La Roux, Kimbra and Dragonette as influences for the studio sessions.
She worked in the studio with Toby Gad, Samantha Ronson, Sia, Jenna Andrews, Sam Hollander, and her past producers, Josh Ramsay, Ryan Stewart and Max Martin, while meeting with new producers Benny Blanco and StarGate (Tor Erik Hermansen & Mikkel Storleer Eriksen).
Jepsen stated that she’s not going to rush with the album like what happened to “Kiss“. Instead, she has taken her time to make sure it has its equality. She has also claimed that she has been working with her current boyfriend, American singer-songwriter Matthew Koma in this new project.
Standard Edition will have 12 tracks, with an additional 5 tracks on the Deluxe Edition.
Side B of Emotion will be released on friday.
