New work by the british band coming in october. It's going to be their first self produced album, following the great 2013 "The Weight of Your Love". In Dream was recorded in Crear in the Western Highlands by the band and mixed in London by Alan Moulder.
According to the press release, the band is aiming for a more electronic sound "swerving away from the rock dynamic of 'The Weight Of Your Love' and marking a return to a writing process influenced by electronic music that draws a line from their debut album through to prominence on the band's third album, the UK Number One 'In This Light And On This Evening'".
I love this band :)
There was a radio leak of Ocean of Night some time ago, it can be found with some effort and sounds quite promising (I’m a fan of the old days and ITLAOTE). Let’s keep our fingers crossed for an album with less arena attitudes and strings :).
Already downloadable in Soulseek, check it out!
Can’t find it on any proper leak site, so better be careful with whatever you found…
I don’t know about the proper leak sites, but I’ve been listening for the whoe album for 5 days now, and the leak notification arrived yesterday :/
The album was available on Apple Music for a few hours at least (I listened to it 3 times) but now it seems it’s not anymore. Must have been a mistake on their part haha, yay! I hope the cached songs stay available for a long time :P
How did you like it? The officially available songs leave me sceptical – I really like No Harm and especially Life is a Fear, but Marching Orders is just okay and The Law couldn’t convince me.
Exactly the same here! No Harm is still my favourite! I like the first half of the album very much, the second is a bit boring, I guess the songs will grow on me like they always do but I don’t like everything for now..
Just gave the whole album a spin – I like their return to more synthies, but the second half of In Dream is just a bit boring and repetitive. So overall it’s great to hear them back from their excursion to “stadium rock” – in my opinion In Dream is way better than Weight of Your Love – and I love experiments, but maybe still some way to go to achieve a(nother) great albun.
I feel the same, I love the first half and then it gets a bit boring.. But it’s nice to have such a change from an album to another, at least it will make a great mix for the live setlist! :)
