London vocalist Francisca Belmonte features prominently on Tricky's last several LPs. Late last year, a slew of spooked, sultry tracks emerged online, perking up the ears of savvy listeners with the promise of a Belmonte solo project. These advance tracks have culminated in the Anima album, which presents Belmonte's very own distinct vein of freaked pop, seamlessly blended in R n’B, soul, club, electronica, avant-garde and more to hypnotic effect.
Anima presents Francesca Belmonte's distinctive vision in full, with a vast and shimmering collection of tracks. The album will be released on Tricky's False Idols label (the first release on the label from an artist other than Tricky himself).
