Last year, Veruca Salt reunited for its first tour and single in over a decade. Now, the alt-rock veterans are completing the comeback trifecta with a brand new album titled Ghost Notes. Due out on July 10th through El Camino Records, it marks the band’s fifth studio LP following 2006’s IV.
More importantly, however, it serves as the first album to feature the original Veruca Salt lineup of Nina Gordon, Louise Post, Steve Lack, and Jim Shapiro in nearly 20 years (the last full-length before Gordon’s departure was 1997’s Eight Arms to Hold You). Ghost Notes was produced by Brad Wood, known for his work on Veruca Salt’s debut, American Thighs, as well as records for Liz Phair, Sunny Day Real Estate, and Ben Lee.
Our first look at the rejuvenated Chicago outfit comes courtesy of the spunky, shreddin’ single “Laughing in the Sugar Bowl”. Sounds like age and time don’t mean a damn thing to Veruca Salt.
So ready for this!
