Genesis Series is the forthcoming studio project by electronic music producer and singer-songwriter Steven Zhu, better known by the mononym ZHU, who remained anonymous until mid-2014, asking to be judged by his music alone. It’s scheduled for release later on this year through Columbia Records.
The artist had a stellar 2014, releasing the Grammy-nominated debut single “Faded” which managed an impressive third position on the UK Chart, topping the same in the Dance releases. The track was released in March 2014 as the lead single for his debut extended play The Nightday, which was set free in April 2014 through Mind of a Genius.
To make the project an outright success ZHU has recruited the best in the electronic music scene among them Skrillex, DJ Snake and A-Trak alongside rappers and other talented musicians. The idea behind it is to bridge the gap between his last EP and his forthcoming full-length studio album Generation Why which is due to release later this year.
The first track from the seven-song undertaking to see the light of day, is “Automatic” a song he’s done with English electronic music duo AlunaGeorge.
