Buried Side are a band from Switzerland that plays deathcore and this is a review of their self released 2016 album "Heading To The Light".
Classical guitar playing starts off the album along with some keyboards a few seconds later and after the intro the music gets more heavy and fast along with some brutal blast beats and death metal growls while the mid paced parts are more influenced by metalcore and bring in high pitched screams.
When guitar solos and leads are utilized they are done in a technical fashion and there are also some pig squeals being used in some parts of the songs and you can also hear some grooves and melodies in the bands musical style and the music also mixes in atmospheric sounds and middle eastern style scales at times
Buried Side plays a style of deathcore that brings in the heaviness of death metal while also having more of a mainstream approach to the genre and also getting atmospheric and technical at times, the production sounds very professional for being a self released recording while the lyrics cover dark and real life themes.
In my opinion Buried Side are a very decent sounding deathcore band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "The Elevation" "The Divine Traveller" "Burning Star" and "Towards Infinity". 8 out of 10.
