Electronic music composer Colleen aka Cécile Schott will release her new album A flame my love, a frequency via Thrill Jockey this autumn. Her second release on the label following 2015’s superb Captain Of None – one of our top 3 albums of the year – A flame my love, a frequency hears Colleen set aside her viola da gamba in favour of a wholly electronic set-up built around Moog pedals and Critter and Guitari synthesizers.
Drawing comparisons with Arthur Russell for her ability to seamlessly navigate the acoustic, the electronic, and the avant-garde, Colleen has heralded the album with new track ‘Separating’. A rumination of the nature of life and death, in part a reaction to her proximity to the 2015 Paris attacks.
