In Urgency continues to expand their unique and dynamic sound, combining elements of alternative rock, post-hardcore, pop punk and post-rock while drawing influence from the likes of Anberlin, Thrice, Brand New and Taking Back Sunday, amongst various others.
For their first full-length, In Urgency chose to again collaborate with former Finch and current Speak the Truth member Daniel Wonacott. For these sessions, Wonacott took the role of sole producer as well as engineer, along with the mixing and mastering expertise of engineers Kyle Black (New Found Glory, State Champs, The Color Morale) and Kris Crummett (Issues, Dance Gavin Dance, Sleeping With Sirens), respectively. The sound created is huge, moody, and diverse.
Vocalist/guitarists Chris Anderson & Sam Mountain continue their dual vocal/dual guitar approach, creating riffs & melodies reminiscent of Brand New’s Jesse Lacey paired with Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl. Javier Caudillo continues to lay down the massive pulse behind the music. This time around, the trio is joined by bassist Michael Capuano, whose sound design background helps combine thick standard bass lines along with ambient effect saturated walls of sound, leading one to think of This Will Destroy You and Explosions in the Sky.
Since their inception, In Urgency has shared the stage with the likes of Finch, Speak the Truth, Hawthorne Heights, A Static Lullaby and MEST. They plan to expand their horizons on the road later this year.
