The american violinist and singer/songwriter Joan Wasser announced "Damned Devotion", the successor of "The Classic" and her colaborative material with Benjamin Lazar, "Let It Be You". Scheduled to be released on February 9th, 2018 through Play It Again Sam label, she tells:
"The title is undeniably dramatic, but it's a subject I've touched my entire life: how do you live a dedicated life without becoming obsessed or losing your mind?"
After experiencing a series of tragedies, like the death of her boyfriend (Jeff Buckley) in 1997, the suicide of friend Elliot Smith in 2003 and the death of her mother four years later, "Damned Devotion" is a tribute to her passion, the music, which allowed her to pass through these moments.
The first single is "Warning Bell", a melancholy piece of airy synthesizers, spaced percussion and guitars strummed by the emotional and stable vocal of Joan about never being prepared for disappointments. "I never see it coming...".
