With observant lyrics and mostly acoustic arrangements, The Front Bottoms make memorable sing-a-longs that call back to a different, simpler, sadder era of confessional guitar music. On October 13, the New Jersey duo will release a new full-length LP called Going Grey. Today The FADER is debuting "Raining," that record's super melodic, widescreen-sounding first single. Production-wise, it's long ways from the endearingly amateurish folk-punk they got famous for writing. But it still feels raw.
"'Raining' was one of the last songs we wrote and recorded for the album but it had been an idea we had for years," The Front Bottoms said of the track, premiering above with a video made by Ryan Baxley. "We just wandered around parts of New Jersey with a super 8 camera and filled up 11 rolls with footage,” they said.
Going Grey is out October 13.
