King Diamond's long-awaited new album, The Institute, has been announced and is set for a 2020 release. A new single will be released later this year and the band has also announced a 2019 headlining tour with support from Uncle Acid and The Deadbeats and Idle Hands.

The Institute will be the first studio album from King Diamond since 2007's Give Me Your Soul... Please. "For reasons unknown to you, it is clear that you have no way of making it to The Institute on your own at this point," said the legendary King Diamond of the upcoming tour. "Therefore, we will bring The Institute to you. You don't want to miss this special opportunity for treatment only we can give you. It could be for your own good, you know..."

The tour will feature a brand new stage production and a teaser video, which can be seen below, clues fans in as to what they can expect from King Diamond's routinely theatrical stage sets.

"As the long nights draw in and the temperatures drop, I can't think of a better artist to creep around North America with than the legendary King Diamond," said Uncle Acid and The Deadbeats. "You'll all be in for a treat...See you there!"

Idle Hands added, "Touring with the iconic King Diamond is nothing short of a dream and we are excited to make it a reality."

See the list of tour stops below and visit the King Diamond website for more info. Additionally, this will be the first King Diamond tour to offer VIP meet and greet packages, will go on sale tomorrow (Aug. 20) at 10AM ET.

While performing at Hellfest in June, King Diamond debuted the new song "Masquerade of Madness," which is suspected to be part of the new record. Also set for 2020 is the highly-anticipated reunion of King's other band, Mercyful Fate. They're expected to release new music as well.
