2017 saw the foundation set for Absent In Body, a project that would soon grow new limbs and evolve to catastrophic musical capabilities. What began with Amenra guitarist Mathieu J. Vandekerckhove and Neurosis frontman Scott Kelly then welcomed Iggor Cavalera (Sepultura) and Colin H. Van Eeckhout (Amenra) for a powerhouse that now sees the arrival of their debut full-length, Plague God. Adorned by a blood-curling cover courtesy of Sven Harambašić, Plague God arrives on March 25th via Relapse Records and the industrial leaning lead single The Acres/The Ache is available now in all of its slow burning glory. Consider it a glimpse of the boundless layers that exist within this honest expression of sound.
Mathieu Vandekerckhove comments:
“We had not imposed any limitations or boundaries on ourselves to create this music. Everything happened without any compromise, we gathered and let inspiration run freely. It is the beauty and the strength of this album.”
Iggor Cavalera adds:
"It feels great to collaborate with such forward-thinking minds like Colin, Mathieu, and Scott on AIB. The music is dense and slowly brutal, very similar to the times we are living."
