This week in album leaks

The week started off strong – On Tuesday the site hit a record number of unique visitors. There were two reasons for this. Sleigh Bells and Fun, both albums leaked almost at the same time, and since they were both highly anticipated, people flooded in. Fun already had a Soundcloud stream up before the leak but Sleigh Bells took the usual route by releasing an album stream to counter the album leak.

Metal fans were pleased as Veil Of Mayas Eclipse album leaked on Wednesday. The comments are filled with praise and it currently has a perfect ten out of ten score. And for our indie crowd we got Andrew Birds Break It Yourself, the follow-up to 2009s Noble Beast, almost one month in advance.

And then one more big release hit the net, dubstep mastermind Burial returned with a new EP. Personally I was worried before the release since I thought his collaboration with Massive attack wasn’t very good. But he proved me wrong, Kindred is truly Burial back to form. It’s currently rated 8.5 out of 10 by our visitors. And it’s fun to see that so many people registered when the EP leaked, we do lack a good amount of electronic music fans.
