In the years following the dissolution of that original band, Toher and Stawiarz have reconvened as ERAAS. The new alias sees the pair swerving into darker territory, jettisoning the more song-based elements of the Apse repertoire in favour of spooky, rhythmic mood pieces. They’ve been keeping good company too, getting a taut, oppressive remix from Silent Servant.
Debut album ERAAS is the first release on Brooklyn label felte. It’s a diverse set, taking in hushed motorik (‘A Presence’), synth-inflected goth (‘At Heart’) and drone (‘Moon’). It’s not as murky as Lust For Youth, nor as spirited as Cold Cave, but there’s a delicacy of touch at play that gives ERAAS some degree of distinction.
leak on exystence long time ago….
@mallman Yes it did that’s true. I just noticed it wasn’t up on this site and i really live this album so I added it. And it leaked at the same time on fondness as it did on exy.
And it only leaked on exys private site so not everybody got a chance to get it.
@alakritz appreciate all of the albums you add, even if they’ve been out elsewhere. As long as they haven’t been added already. And you’ve obviously got good taste in music – So it’s a win win ;) Keep it up!
