Critically acclaimed for their vast sound infusing Jazz, Dub and Soul, Submotion Orchestra return with a new EP titled ‘1968’, which is due for release on the 4th November via Circus Records.
Title track, ‘1968’ is the perfect introduction to the forthcoming EP as lead singer Ruby’s vocals soar over a wall of subtle, yet monumental instrumentation.
A surprising yet assured signing by Circus Records, a label who are more associated with bruising bass than the elegant tones of Submotion Orchestra, label co-founder Flux Pavilion declared his love for the band, which soon led to them signing to Circus, reinstating the label’s ethos of releasing only the highest quality music, regardless of genre.
Flux Pavilion says “to release Submo on Circus is amazing, I’ve always been a big fan of their music.”
Amongst a current trend in EDM, Submotion Orchestra offers a soothing influence that has been praised by the likes of The Guardian and The Times. Leeds’s finest will be embarking on a European tour next month, including a date at London’s prestigious Koko on the 15th November as well dates in Prague and Bratislava.
