After dropping off a slew of bangers as a lead up, Chicago producer A-Villa delivers his first (and last) official album, Carry On Tradition. Four years in the making, the true "build-from-scratch" release features Action Bronson, Freddie Gibbs, Big K.R.I.T., Joe Budden, Joell Ortiz, Rapsody, Killer Mike, and many more. Seriously, this album is stacked. A-Villa created Carry On Tradition while working full-time as vice president of a bank, and raising a newborn. He taught himself how to produce, and one-by-one tracked down his favorite emcees, constructing the project one verse at a time. While doing so, A-Villa accomplished something that most music fans only dream about: creating music with their heroes. His story is incredibly inspiring, and the resulting album is an unapologetically raw LP that features emcee pairings straight out of rap fantasy camp.
