After an enraptured Jules sat cross-legged on the beer stained carpet of The Hopbine pub, Cambridge (late 2009) manically informing Pete every few seconds 'man, we need to make music with this girl!!', the two of them jammed with Dimitra the very next day, the song that they had first heard her play at that open mic night. That song, penned by a more deviant soul searching 16 year old Dimitra, was Leini (not lady, as Jules had misheard) or, its full title, 'Ode to a Familiar Stranger'.
From there, Dimitra, Jules and Pete, carefully worked on shaping existing songs that they had each written, from experiences, dreams and experiments, into their own unique character; as well as composing new songs (Hazy Horizons, Boogie Man, Kickin' A Bottle). Over their first two years at university, whilst playing in various other ensembles around university, they played a number of acoustic sets as 'The Familiar Strangers' at CB1, The Ruskin Gallery, and The Hopbine; as well playing a set on Cam 105 fm, covering Janis Joplin's 'Mercedes Benz' on vocals, viola, and pots and pans...
