Modest Mouse's latest album Strangers to Ourselves will be released on March 3, 2015. It is the band's first album since 2009's No One's First and You're Next. The album's first single "Lampshades on Fire," will be released on December 16th, 2014. No word on a tracklist yet, but new Modest Mouse!! AHHHH!

Unfortunately, the album has been pushed back a few days and is now set for a March 17 release. The band will perform on Jimmy Fallon on release day as well.

I am so GDMF excited about this one. I just preordered it because the shirt and album was 25$ cant beat that. They have been teasing this album for way too long but at least when they finally give a release date at least it isn’t too far away. I can not WAIT!

Honestly, I don’t know how to feel about this release. I feel “if-y” on some of the songs. Certainly one of those music snob cases where I feel like I love their older stuff so much more. I guess I’ll have to wait and see though.
We can’t keep holding our breath for the next Lonesome Crowded West… Those days are over, I’ll take what I can get out of these guys. I’ve been a fan for a while, and I’ve played the “I hate the new crap” angle, but in all reality, it’s better than anything else that’s out there, so I’ll take it. That new one they released today, “Of Course We Know” is dope, I’ll give the rest of the album a chance, hell, it’ll probably be the first CD I’ve bought in years, not at a show at least. They are getting old, and aren’t on hard drugs anymore, this is what we get!
I agree with you completely. The raw sound is what defined them, so it’s been interesting watching them evolve and refine.
It’s sad that most of people remember Modest Mouse for “Float On”, but I think they many good songs and I hope this new album is going to be good.
They have a lot of good songs, but I think Float On was pushed really hard through mainstream media.
so excited for this album his last album, is timeless classic that sounds just as important and current as it did when released in 2007 , don’t forget this guys has been real;easing records since the 1990’s , he really is a living legend and a fantastic maker of good old rock n roll indie music , now just got to see him live :)

Yeah, on reddit there are people that have photos with the album. Also, apparently Target put the album out early in their stores, thinking the release date was on Tuesday in some stores. Check it out, leak is imminent.
Yeap, people have posted photos of the lyrics and people on Last.fm have played the album in it’s entirety. It’s out there and it’s just a matter of time :) Unfortunately my pre-ordered hasn’t surfaced :(
Who would have thought Modest Mouse would be the Ft. Knox of album leaks, even with physical copies no one can make a mp3 evidently. I only really care because I haven’t had anything interest me in about a month but cmon already this is getting stupid.

Wow, this is the second worst album I’ve listened to in the last year behind only Jack White.
Maybe go back to listening to one direction and adele mate :) if real music not for you there’s plenty of commercial crap out there .
after listening to the album for a few weeks, it a great modest mouse album ,reveals some thing new on every listen cannot wait to see them live in london , the band is so talented .
