Compton: A Soundtrack is the upcoming third studio album from rapper Dr. Dre wich is set to release August 7th, 2015.
Background
During an interview with Power99FM Ice Cube announced that Dr. Dre would drop a new album on August 1st, 2015. On august 1st Dr. Dre's radio show The Pharmacy would drop on 3PM (PST) wich an special Episode called Countdown to Compton during the show Dr. Dre was asked by another Radio host on the show when the album gonna drop, Dr. Dre answered that he is officialy dropping the Record on August 7th, 2015.

It’s been like, what, 16 years since his proper release? That Detox comment only reassures how much Dre is passionate about his music. We all know it’s not really about the money neither since he sold Beats to Apple. 3 tracks with Kendrick Lamar? Enough said.

exactly, he may not have made this album for the money, he sold his beats by dre definitely for the money. I thought i have read somewhere all the money he makes of this album he’s gonna donate to a music centre in Compton. So that’s pretty cool

It’s not Detox, Dr. Dre shelved Detox because he thought it ‘wasn’t good enough’.
I feel a little guilty for saying it but I expected a little more from this record.

Let’s face it , it’s not gangsta rap or making it on the street any longer , he’s a billionaire . I was hoping for more Eminem v dre tracks and sometimes there two artist that are made for each other and compliment each other . Dr dre don’t one song on his own except dairy . It’s good don’t get me wrong , feels more like a party album due to the amount of other artist included . I am a big dre fan waited till 2am this morning to listen. When you make the best hip hop album of all time 2001 , how do you follow that up , how do you beat perfection and that has always been Dres problem . He made his name bu rapping about street life that’s why so many connected with him . Now he don’t have to do anything he didn’t want to repeat old ground , though I wish he had . Would love to see how much detox had been done and what it was like , I need a dr is brilliant . So if this really is Dres last album then it does indeed feel like a celebration. Party album , Credit where’s credits due . Also feels a lot like to pimp a butterfly . I guess this is his last calling card and he knows it . Street life’s changed since the day of pagers etc . He changed the game , went to own the game what has he got left to prove , always be haters always be folk who love anythiJg he would put out . I hope he does another album with the oringal artist from 2001 call it 2021 like a mk2 as he always sounds best with. Eminem snoop dog obie etc.
