Almost loosing faith in the album here. Seems overly ambitious announcing three huge things he’s working on at the same time, without even knowing wtf he actually wants the album and game to end up like. He should’ve released the first version, and just released a “Super deluxe who cares super fan” edition afterwards with the other 800 tracks. Wolves would be a great final track.
I agree, it looks like he’s just throwing the singles at the end. I hope it doesn’t drag down this A- album to a C+ by overburdening it.

I love how minimal it is. “No beat” is by no means a musical detriment. And Kanye’s heavily utilized auto-tune singing on his last three albums.
for a rap album lack of beats is kind of like a classical album without the symphony. i feel like its going to turn a lot of people off when they tune in for the typical kanye beats and find him singing on a track with dated autotune
Your first sentence doesn’t make any sense. A classical piece without a symphony orchestra is literally nothing. A better comparison would be a classical piece without one particular instrument, and nearly every single classical piece has at least one point in the middle where only a few of the instruments are playing. The only musical difference (aside from the singing) between the opening of FML and a traditional hip-hop song is that there isn’t a drum track. It’s not like it loses all concept of tempo.
And regardless, this album is still far more commercially viable than Yeezus was. New Slaves didn’t have any drums either, and it got a Grammy nomination.

How? The album is coming out. It’s just delayed a bit. I’d rather it being a few days late then getting something that isn’t quite finished. Also I don’t remember him ever giving an actual release date for the album, I only remember him saying he would premiere it at the Season 3 show, which he did.
Different versions. He did fifty or something for “stronger” originally. I like that it’s alive and constantly changing.

I don’t have any problems with artists spending a lot of time on their albums, I think that’s a good thing usually. Difference between Frank Ocean and Kanye this time around is that Kanye pretty much told everyone that it would be released this week; never heard any specific dates from Frank Ocean. Of course it’s alright to push the release date back, but it all feels kinda clumsy and therefore annoying.
And sure, they kinda got what they paid for when they went to the event. My point was more that, eh, I’m not sure it counts as a proper premiere if you don’t actually play everything that’s supposed to be on the album. Tracks keeps getting added. I’d enjoy this more if he just kept quiet about the whole project for the next days/week/hours until it’s actually out.

Sorry, everyone didn’t get an email. We’re going to work on a solution to this. It’s difficult to virtually and in advance try to emulate a massive leak like this and how it should be handled by the site script and my server.
