After four years from her last album, Longe de Onde (Coqueiro Verde Records, 2011), Karina Buhr returns with her third album, entitled Selvática, recorded this year's July on YB Music Records studio in São Paulo. Produced, composed and arranged by herself with producers and band members Bruno Buarque, Mau, André Lima and Victor Rice, along with Cannibal and trumpeter Guizado, Karina explains the genesis of Selvática: "From the idea of wild animals, present in sacrad texts and by the way women are described in them, came the idea of savage women, with inspirations on warriors of Dahomey, on Brazil, from everywhere and of anytime. Sometimes a heavy sound, sometimes a mild one, with a bit of reggae, a touch of ciranda and the slow return of percussion into my sound. The eponymous song was the last to come [...], to close the seam, featuring marvelous goddesses [...]. Selvática started with 15 songs, and then I went, with Bruno Buarque, Mau, André Lima and Victor Rice (the album producers), taking out the juice and leaving the extract until there were 11 songs."
Karina's third album is hosted in a crowdfunding plataform (Kickante), through which she attempts to raise R$40,000 to fund the release and distribution of her album in the Brazilian music market in October 2015 (if you want to help fund it, the link is in the pre-order section).
