Artist and electronic music pioneer came back into the spotlight October 2017 with the breakthrough ballad track "It's Okay To Cry." The emotional epic put SOPHIE front and center, a visually apparent person and indicative of the direction for her debut release 'OIL OF EVERY PEARL’s UN-INSIDES'. Premiering on Crack Magazine, an extensive interview with the artist found her re-imagining her brand as SOPHIE - from cloaked and mysterious producer alias and PC Music affiliate, to limelight and provocative alternative pop star - and vocalizing all the ideologies of her present self. The debut album is second look at pop music, noting influence from past and present such as Pet Shop Boys, Kraftwerk, Charli XCX and more, because SOPHIE seems to find more appeal in pop music than any other. "It’s not exclusive, it’s not elitist, and those are the standards that I want to maintain in my music."
'OIL OF EVERY PEARL’s UN-INSIDES' releases on June 15, 2018 via MSMSMSM INC, Transgressive Records and Future Classic and has a corresponding tour of select cities through North America and Europe.
