I have just listened to The whole album…..I am so sorry Matt. I have been a fan of VH since Everything You Want was released and I have enjoyed each release since then even more than the previous ones. I even learned to love your earlier releases Running on Ice and There and Back Again! However, Everything You Want ,Go, Burning The Days, and Echoes From The Underground became the defining VH sound. They were all wonderful blends of guitar, drums and vocals woven together with amazing lyrics and so many songs that touched my heart….. But The Lost Mile broke my heart. The stylistic break between The Lost Mile and your other albums was too great for me. The synthesized beats and sounds on The Last Mile left me cold and stole from the songs the sense of connection I had with your lyrics from past albums. Maybe next time……
