Years & Years are back with their forthcoming second album. The title of the album is 'Palo Santo' and it will be release on 6 July 2018. The lead single from the album, 'Sanctify', was released on 7 March 2018, which reached number 25 on the UK Singles Chart. Years & Years used various social media platforms to interact with their fans for the release of the lead single and the revealing of the new album's track list. The full track list of 'Palo Santo' was announced on 24 April 2018.
The video for the lead single, 'Sanctify', introduced a concept of a genderless dystopian society populated by androids known as Palo Santo (which means "holy wood" in Spanish). This concept will continue within the whole album. The album will also feature the full-length version of the song 'Hypnotised', previously used in part in a short film for fashion company H&M's collection by British designer Erdem.
