Year of No Light are a long running (mostly) instrumental 6-piece from Bordeaux, France. In addition to celebrating their 20th anniversary as a band, they have signed with German based Pelagic Records; home to like minded bands like, among others, the Ocean. They will also be releasing "Consolamentum", their first full length since 2013 tour de force, "Tocsin". Tocsin built on the chilly, black metal informed sound of 2010 "Ausserwelt", adding increased depth and varied tones. From the band:
The lengthy, sprawling and cinematic compositions of towering walls of guitars and sombre synths of the seminal French 6-piece irradiate a sense of dire solemnity and spiritual gravity. „Consolamentum" is huge, poignant, frightening, sublime, smothering and cathartic – and, much like its predecessor, “audacious, memorable and supremely confident.“ @decibelmagazine
