Elliphant Living Life Golden

After releasing a series of EPs and collaborations with names such as MØ, Diplo, Doja Cat and Skrillex, Swedish singer Ellinor Olovsdotter, known as Elliphant, has announced her North American debut album (or her sophomore album, since her debut, "A Good Idea", was only released on Sweden). Entitled "Living Life Golden", it’s out September 25th on Dr. Luke’s Kemosabe Records, and it will include her current single “Love Me Badder”.

Along with the news, Elliphant released another single from the upcoming album, The Best People in the World, investing in her characteristic mix of pop, electronic and reggae, now in a regular trip hop structure.

"Instead of the album coming out on the 25th September- I guess we'll try to put a single out then... I'm a little bit upset about it actually," she admits.

She confirms that 'creatively', everything is ready - the artwork, the songs - but there's still some paperwork to sign off before her label can roll out the album.

"I'm going to the office today, I'm going to figure out all those things," she says before apologising to her fans for the setback.

"I feel so shit about it; I hate stuff like this. It's so annoying when it's out of your own hands. It feels like you're breaking your word but it's not really on you... we've been working - some of my people are in L.A., Stockholm, London, different time zones. It's just been very hard to wrap it up."

However dismayed, Elli's staying positive: "Good shit takes time - that's what it is."

"Living life Golden" was meant to drop on Friday 25 September, but the Swedish triple threat returned home to Stockholm yesterday to the news the album's release has been pushed back... again.

In a press release for the announcement of two Australian headline shows, it was also announced that Living Life Golden will be released on January 29, 2016.

"With her hit single ‘Love Me Badder’ (purchase here), much anticipated debut album ‘Live Life Golden’ due for release on Jan 29 and a single coming at the end of this month, Elliphant’s Australian dates are not to be missed!"
