Rise Against RPM10

Fat Wreck Chords is jumping into the nostalgia game hard these days, having recently announced some Strung Out rereleases, and now a deluxe anniversary package for Chicago punks Rise Against's 2003 sophomore set Revolutions Per Minute. Tellingly titled RPM10, it arrives on CD, LP and digitally via the imprint on May 28.

A press release from the label explains that the expanded edition will include the original 12-song set, recorded at the Blasting Room in Colorado with Bill Stevenson, as well as 10 additional demos. The only songs to not appear in alternate form are "Dead Ringer" and "To the Core." The demo for "Halfway There," meanwhile, will only be available with the LP edition.

"We wrote these songs above an antique store in Chicago where the owner would rent roach-infested rooms to bands," vocalist Tim McIlrath explained of the album via a press statement. "In a post 9-11 fervor, the powers that be had just finished lying to the public and swindled their way into entering what would become the longest war in our country's history (which seeped into songs like 'Blood Red, White & Blue')."

Fat also noted that RPM10 will feature expanded artwork. You can see the album cover up above.

Revolutions Per Minute was the last LP the band recorded for Fat Wreck Chords, having jumped to Geffen for their 2004 full-length Siren Song of the Counter Culture. Their last LP was 2011's Endgame.
