DUST began in 2012, originally as a collaboration between audio engineer Michael Sherburn and promoter John Barclay (the owner of Bossa Nova Civic Club). Vocalist and multimedia artist Greem Jellyfish joined the ranks shortly after. Crafting an unpredictable and occasionally provocative style of vocal-laced acid house and techno, their first EP, Onset Of Decimation, came through Mannequin in mid-2013. Two more records for that Berlin-based label would follow, along with releases on Low Life Inc. and Sci-Fi & Fantasy and, earlier this year, 2MR—a new endeavor from Mike Simonetti and Mike Sniper.
The group will return to 2MR with Agony Planet, which a press release describes as "spanning in genre from digital hardcore, dungeon techno, and celestial ambience" and "held together by a theme of extravagant extraterrestrial warfare." It'll come on CD, double-vinyl and digital formats. Stream album opener "Breeding Pit" below.
