Low desert kingpin Brant Bjork will release his new album, Tao of the Devil, Sept. 30 via Napalm Records. The record, which was first discussed here in an interview back in March, will be Bjork‘s second for the label behind 2014’s Black Flower Power (review here), and though I think the lineup is the same, it’s noteworthy that the full name of the band, Brant Bjork and the Low Desert Punk Band has been dropped off the cover art in favor of the simpler Brant Bjork moniker. Whether or not that will factor into the sound of the record itself of course remains to be heard.
Tao Of The Devil is more focused than its predecessor Black Power Flower and boasts a more song-oriented and groovy stoner sound, with a healthy dose of 70s style greatness.
