"Hopeless Romantic" is the fourth studio album by Michelle Branch. It’s scheduled to be released on April 7th.
It serves as follow-up to 2010’s EP "Everything Comes and Goes", and becomes the first full length project in about 14 years ("Hotel Paper" was released in 2003).
Her previous label shelved two albums:
– In October 2007, Michelle Branch announced that she was working on "Everything Comes and Goes". After problems at her record label caused severe delays in the release of the album, she released the project as a six-track EP on July 16, 2010.
– In December 2010, Michelle Branch announced her return to her pop/rock roots for her album "West Coast Time". This album has seen numerous delays and has never been released.
The singer-songwriter worked with the Black Keys’ Patrick Carney on her fourth LP. He told her "This is your record, it has to sound like you". She discovered was a laid-back rock & roll sound, with deeply personal lyrics inspired by her 2015 divorce and — plot twist! — her budding romance with Carney. "The lust, the love, the heartbreak" she says. "It’s all there".
It’s good!
