Musiq Soulchild and Syleena Johnson have been hard at work on a joint release of reggae-inspired duets entitled 9INE. The duo locked themselves inside a studio to record nine songs in nine days – thus the title of the project. The recording process was an exercise in breaking the boundaries of genre, for both singers. They set out to make a record that could stand as tangible proof of their varied musical interests and artistic versatility. The project – produced by Kemar “Flava” McGregor – is slated for release on september 24.
